Pioneer Ddj Sb2 With Mixxx
Jul 05, 2017 Update Pioneer DDJ-SB2 for new effects and looping UIs in Mixxx 2.1 and fix various other issues. New mappings for autoloop pad layer and effects are documented on the wiki. I did this while I was staying with a friend who happened to have a DDJ-SB2. I do not have access to the device to test further changes. It would be nice to finish rewriting this using Components, but I did not have time. DDJ-SB2 works with other MIDI-compatible software besides Serato DJ Pro, by assigning MIDI message. Please refer to the list of MIDI messages to find mapping values of all buttons and knobs. To assign MIDI message to all software function, please refer to your manufacturers' software manual. Anybody got a mapping for the new Pioneer DDJ-400 Great controller and it comes with Rekordbox as well. It's a shame though it doesn't work very well with Rekordbox.
Description
based on hrudham's DDJ-SR mapping, with lots of modifications to make it work on the SX2.
use Mixxx v2.0 for this mapping.
How do I use it?
if you just want to get your controller working with Mixxx without bothering about the details much, then do the following:
May 01, 2018 Plosives are strong blasts of air that create a massive pressure change at the microphone's diaphragm, and happen most often with strong p, t, k, and b sounds. RX can intelligently remove these from your audio using the De-plosive module. Sample: In this voiceover track, we can hear the pronounced p and b sounds. Rx 2 izotope plosive removal.
- clone this repository, or download it as a zip.
- copy
bin/PIONEER_DDJ-SX2.midi.xml
andbin/PIONEER_DDJ-SX2-scripts.js
to[Mixxx Directory]/controllers
. This will probably be one of the following locations:- Windows:
C:Program FilesMixxxcontrollers
- Linux:
/usr/share/mixxx/controllers or /usr/local/share/mixxx/controllers
- OS X:
/Applications/Mixxx.app/Contents/Resources/controllers/
- Windows:
- make sure your Pioneer DDJ-SX2 is plugged in and turned on.
- open (or restart) Mixxx, and enjoy using your (almost-fully-functional) controller
Controller Setup
the DDJ-SX2 uses a sysex to go into serato mode, so we trick the controller into 'this is Serato'. no extra setup is involved.
What's implemented?
- crossfader
- deck
- play/pause
- volume
- trim
- equalizer

- keylock
- slip mode
- tempo slider
- loop functions (except slot select)
- crossfader assign buttons

- scratching
- pitch bend
- skipping
- browser
- selector
- selector toggle
- back button
- view/area
- load prepare
- load buttons
- panel select

- since Mixxx uses a different effect framework, the effect panel wouldn't have worked properly, but i did it anyways
- check out EFFECTS.md for instructions.

- sampler volume
- channel/cross fader start
- parameter 1 and 2
What's missing

you can fork this repository, clone it, install this mapping, and modify it using Mixxx and your favorite text editor (don't use Notepad though (unless you're an Insider), it does not recognize LF line endings). then copy the changes back to cloned repo, and commit.
make a pull request when done.

Mixxx mapping for Pioneer DDJ-RB controller
I have a Pioneer DDJ-RB controller and I wanted to use it with Mixxx(https://mixxx.org), however as this controller is newish no one has written the mapping for it. I first tried the mapping for Pionner DDJ-SB2 and I could get the Mixer and basic Decks working but a lot of the feature were not mapped, so I found the Pioneer documentation for Midi mapping and started work on this project.
Omnisphere 2.6 includes a stunning new “Hardware Library” with over 1,600 new patches created by Eric Persing and the renowned Spectrasonics Sound Development team. Each hardware profile has a corresponding set of sounds in the Hardware Library which were specially designed using that hardware synth as an Omnisphere controller.

At the moment this is a !!Work In Progress!! while I map all the midi messages. I have not tested the inital version yet.
